Note :
1. Frequency of Advertisement/Examination: The vacancies for NDA Entry are advertised by the Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi twice a year in the months of April/May and Sept/Oct in the national newspapers and "Weekly Employment News". The written exam for the entry into NDA is held twice in a year in the months of April & August (Every third Sunday of these months)
2. Selection Procedure: The process of selecting cadets for the National Defence Academy is split into three phases: (a) A written examination held by the Union Public Service Commission. (b) Service Selection Board Interview (c) Medical Board of the selected candidates
3. Scheme of Examination: The examination is held in two parts as follows: (a) Paper-I Mathematics 2½ hours duration maximum marks 300 (b) Paper-II General Ability Test 2½ hours duration maximum marks 600 General Ability Test is sub-divided as follows: (A) Part A English maximum marks 200 (B) Part B General Knowledge maximum marks 400 Part B is further sub-divided as follows: (i) Section A (Physics) 25% (100 Marks) (iI) Section B (Chemistry) 15% (60 Marks) (iii) Section C (Gen. Science) 10% (40 Marks) (iv) Section D (History) 20% (80 Marks) (v) Section E (Geography) 20% (80 Marks) (vi) Section F (Current Events) 10% (40 Marks) Note: (a) There will be many objective type questions. (b) There will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate.

    1. Soldier (General Duty (GD)) 17½ to 21 Years Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate and 32% marks in each subject. If the candidate is 10+2 pass, he need not to have stipulated % of marks. For students belonging to SC/ST category should be only matric pass. Height - 170 cms Chest - 77-82 cms Weight - 50 Kgs One Mile Race: 60 Marks within 5 Min. 40 Sec. Pull ups (beams) - 10 40 Marks 9' Ditch No Marks The written test will be of 100 marks comprising of questions from reasoning (series), arithmetic, science and general knowledge. The paper will be in Hindi and English scripts

Soldier Tech. 17½ to 23 Years 10+2 Exam pass in Science, Math, Physics, Chemistry & English (with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject) Height - 170 cms Chest - 77-82 cms Weight - 50 Kgs One Mile Race: 60 Marks within 5 Min. 40 Sec. Pull ups (beams) - 10 40 Marks 9' Ditch No Marks Paper-I: Applicable to all categories of candidates Paper-II: This paper is applicable to Soldiers Tech./Clerk GD, SKT and Nursing Assistants This paper will be of 100 marks and will be different for different categories Questions will be from Chemistry, Physics and Arithmetic
    3. Clerk GD and Storekeeper Tech. (SKT) 17½ to 23 Years 10+2 Exam pass in Science, Math, Physics, Chemistry & English (with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject) Height - 162 cms Chest - 77-82 cms Weight - 50 Kgs One Mile Race: 60 Marks within 5 Min. 40 Sec. Pull ups (beams) - 10 40 Marks 9' Ditch No Marks Paper-I: Applicable to all categories of candidates Paper-II: This paper is applicable to Soldiers Tech./Clerk GD, SKT and Nursing Assistants This paper will be of 100 marks and will be different for different categories Generally Questions will be from English and Arithmetic

    5. Sepoy GD in Para Military Forces 18 to 23 Years (Gen. Category) 18 to 26 Years (OBC/EBC) 18 to 28 Years (SC/ST) 10+2 Arts/Comm/Med./Non. Med. Height - 170 cms Chest - 80-85 cms Weight - as per Height and Age One Mile Race: 6.5 min. Long Jump: Minimum 11 Feet High Jump: Minimum 3.5 Feet GK : 25 Marks Essay, Dictation and maths etc. : 25 Marks Interview: The candidates who have qualified in written test have to appear before the board for interview will be of 25 Marks. Extra marks will be given for sports, Adventures, NCC, Scouts and Guides and other curriculur activities. The achievements should be of minimum state level. for such claims, candidates have to produce documentary proof.
